Summer Experience

The 100 day deadline for our summer trip to the European Quartet is quickly approaching (April 3rd). We will be visiting the beautiful cities of Amsterdam, Brussels, Paris and London. It will be a 9 day trip filled with wonder, awe and a lifetime full of memories.

Before this deadline please make sure: 

  • That all individual special travel requests have been entered
  • That all participants have enrolled or have been assigned a free place (if applicable)
  • That all participants have entered their exact passport name (fees will apply after this date)
  • That all participants have a passport and visa (if applicable)
  • Passports must be valid for 6 months after your return date
  • That all participants are paid in full (minus departure fees which are due 30 days prior to departure) unless they are on the monthly payment plan
  • That all tour requests have been entered
I encourage you to take this opportunity to go on this amazing trip we have planned. It is not too late. Family and friends are welcome on the trip as long as they accept our code of conduct when on this trip.

Basketball Wins CIF Game 74-72


After fouth-quarter collapse, Damien's Jeremy Hemsley hits game-winning 3-pointer in overtime to lift Damien to 74-72 victory in state playoffs!

After Damien witnessed a mammoth fourth-quarter collapse that ended with visiting Mission Oak High School’s Blake Shannon banking in a half-court shot at the buzzer to send the CIF-State Boys Basketball Division III first-round regional playoff game to overtime, Damien sophomore Jeremy Hemsley rescued the Spartans with a buzzer-beater of his own.

Hemsley’s three-point shot as time expired in overtime lifted the Spartans from the jaws of defeat, giving the the CIF-Southern Section Division 3AA champs a 74-72 victory to advance to Saturday’s second-round at second-seed West Hills Chaminade....

Damien Basketball WINS CIF Finals!

Congratulations to Coach Matt Dunn and the Damien Spartan basketball team on winning Damien's first CIF Southern Section Basketball Championship!! Final score was Damien 54, Santa Margarita 40.

 

ANAHEIM - Damien High School, after advancing to the CIF-Southern Section finals for the first time, wasn't about to waste the opportunity.

Ayo Adedeji and Jeremy Hemsley made sure of it.

Adedeji had 18 points and eight rebounds and Hemsley scored 17 points and the Spartans scored the program's first CIF-SS title with a 54-40 victory over Santa Margarita in the Division 3AA championship game Thursday night at Anaheim Arena....

In Memoriam: Travis Eschardies '07

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Travis Eschardies, a member of Damien High School’s graduating class of 2007.  Travis was killed in a car accident on early Sunday morning, February 24, while driving on the 10 Freeway in Montclair.

Travis was an outstanding athlete at Damien. He participated in track and basketball, but he truly made his mark as a member of the Spartan football team. His 65 receptions as a senior set the all-time Damien record for a receiver, a mark that still stands today.

Travis will be missed by all who knew him, who will remember his athletic ability, his outgoing personality, and the concern he showed for others.

Services for Travis were held on Monday, March 4 at Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Claremont.

Cameron Mitchell Speech

Sophomores in Religion classes have been stepping up providing leadership in many ways, especially trying to support the causes that have been supported so passionately by their classmate, Cameron Mitchell. Although because of the cancer he is no longer capable of attending classes, Cameron made a special appearance on campus on Friday February 15th to receive awards for leadership in service from the Archdiocese, a letterman's jacket from his classmates, and a Damien Honorary Diploma from School President, Fr. Cronin, SS.CC.

The Orange County Register published an account of the ceremony highlighted by a video of Cameron's remarks following the ceremony in front of the assembled Damien Student Body. It can be found here:
